About Kip Piper

Kip Piper has 27 years of experience as a public health official, executive, and consultant. He has advised senior government officials, private companies and foundations. 
Kip has served as senior advisor to the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Wisconsin state health commissioner and director of the Wisconsin Medicaid program.  As a senior budget officer at the White House Office of Management and Budget, Kip oversaw federal health spending for the elderly and disabled.

Kip advised Fortune 500 employers on health benefits as a general manager at WellPoint.  As vice president at AcademyHealth, Kip directed national programs to improve quality and expand insurance coverage.  Early in his career, Kip was county legislator and chief executive of a small municipality.

Kip has testified before Congressional committees, negotiated health legislation, designed and implemented innovations.  A speaker at healthcare conferences and author of several journal articles, Kip is frequently quoted in the press, including BusinessWeek, USA Today and National Public Radio.

Kip holds a master's degree in public policy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
